Knud Holscher graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, Professor at the same school from 1968 1986. From 1960 1964, he worked as a partner in the office of Arne Jacobsen, asassociated architect for the realisation of St. Catherines College, University of Oxford. From 1968 1995, he was partner and since 1988 shareholder and member of the board at Krohn & Hartvig Rasmussen, architects and planners. In 1995 Knud Holscher established his own design studio, Knud Holscher Design. The product lines Knud Holscher has created during the past 30 years are all defined by clear design andhigh quality. The list of international design prizes and awards Knud Holscher has received for his work is impressive and constantly growing. This makes him one of the most honoured contemporary Danish architects and designers. Knud Holscher has attracted international attention with products like d line, a series of architectural fittings, the Quinta and Jilly spotlights for the German light manufacturer ERCO, writing utensils for LAMY, the bus stops for AFA JCDecaux in Copenhagen and Aarhus and the Ifö sanitary items. Many of these design icons have become part of the Danes everyday life.
